“ I was watching the PBS piece on Les Paul the other night, and was surprised to learn that he cut his musical teeth on folk songs, country and mountain music. Yes, back in the day, along with Sam Hinton and Woody Guthrie who wore harmonicas around their necks for a complete sound, Les Paul laid his foundation using the same musical stones. Then he discovered Django and evolved. Watching Les Paul, it's obvious that his fidelity and love affair with Music never wavered. And that's what I saw and enjoyed from our guest Jon Ji. Musicianship, originality, expression, passion for his art. Jon comes from folk, bluegrass, and punk. He discovered THE quintessential American Art form, Jazz. Now he's fusing his own brand of one man band. Some may say that's not a fair comparison. But if one can measure love, devotion and bravery in art by a musical performance, then I think I'm on solid ground. We were served a fine musical wine on a beautiful summer eve. Thanks so much Jon. ”
