Hi, I'm Phyllis Grodzitsky. I'm a life long fan of folk music and sing and play guitar. I was President of the San Diego Folk Song Society for a few years. I served on the board of San Diego Folk Heritage as local event planner for two years.

What is first folk song you can remember hearing?

If I Had a Hammer and everything else Peter, Paul and Mary or Bob Dylan or Joan Baez.

A concert and a folk circle????? Wow! The group of people were very nice and the talent level knocked my socks off. I can't wait to go back. It inspired me to practice and bring my performance abilities to new heights. Coordinator Jeff Bertino is an amazing guy. He can do sound work and lead a meeting and play with the best of them.

Hi Phyllis, After my open heart surgery 6 months ago I picked up my guitar again. I loved PP&M, the Kingston trio. I found myself learing "Blowing in the Wind" by Bobby Dylan. I saw Peter Paul & Mary on KPBS recently and really love their song. I am learning "Autumn to May" by PP&M for a 6 year olds birthday party later this month. I sang some of the lyrics to my neighbors 4 years old who just smiled happily. Honestly, I am a little fearful of playing and singing but... Sincerely, CJ
