  •  Hi Joanie! Thanks so much for posting that info in regards to BLUSD.org. I look forward to meeting more blues lovers.

    Lisa (Mar 09, 2009 10:07 PM)
  •  Hmmmm.... keep me posted on that!

  •  Thank you for your kind words Joanie. I wish even more folks would post so I could see some more neat tricks like your "old" postcard - I loved the effect!

Now I want to go back during the week when (hopefully) there are fewer folks - photographers excepted - and do it at a much slower pace.

  •  Thank You.
I enjoyed this event since I rarely do night photography. I do mostly portrait & fine art work. It was a fun evening , and always room to learn and grow. Enjoy the Stone tour I went on the last one.

  •  Thanks Joannie--enjoyed taking them--night photography is something I havent done much of but like the results so far. By the way looked at Flickr site and enjoyed your shots as well.

  •  Thanks Joanie. After taking some timed shots of the traffic I noticed it would look really neat through some of the decorative fencing. Good luck on the Stone tour, I finally made it into the Yes column today!

  •  I'm glad you had a great time! I know I did. For all of the people that showed up, it wasn't at all bad setting up & shooting.

    Andy (Jan 26, 2009 8:27 PM)
  •  Your detail shots are awesome. We need to do this again soon!

Patricia Briscoe Bean (Jan 26, 2009 6:41 PM)
  •  That would be great, are you going to the February Quail Botanical Garden Photo Shoot?

    Valerie (Jan 26, 2009 4:27 PM)
  •  Greeting Joanie, thank you it was a really fun shoot - and I am looking forward to others really soon. Valerie

  •  Thanks Joanie! I really liked your tower b&w shot! It looked like it was right out of Psycho! I keep waiting to hear Janet Leigh scream in the shower... The postcard shot was awesome too. Hope to meet you at one of the meetups.

    Denise (Jan 26, 2009 11:45 AM)
  •  Thanks for your comments,~ Reli like the dreamy quality of your pix too.~

and i got the exact opposite shot of your pix with tower and the flowers... opposite in that the flowers are now on top and in focus.... =_= which is actually accidental...... :P

    See you around next time.~

  •  Greetings Joanie, Thanks for the note... I thought that yours were the best post processing shots from the shoot, I particularly liked the new old postcard... Where did you get that cracked texture?

Yes, the whole night, I shot with my lensbaby 3G. After 25 years as a Commercial Photographer, being hired to get "everything" in focus, it's refreshing, and liberating, doing work deliberately *not* in focus... :-)

  •  Hi Joanie - No need to fear for your sanity. I posted the "sepia orangutan" very recently. I just took the shot last week. I'm sure you already know, but they seem to get very active just before sunset...and the zoo crowds thin out, too.
Anyway. Thanks for the nice comments. I look forward to meeting you at a shoot, sometime. Steve

  •  Hi Joanie, I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed the pictures you posted from the Balboa Park night shoot. They are fantastic!

    Sue (Jan 25, 2009 7:23 PM)
  •  Hi Joanie,
Nice meeting you too! It's always fun exchanging ideas and showing off mistakes!
