I am a recovering pianist :) and am tired of playing piano solos, so I got a mandolin, a banjo, a dobro, got some calouses on the fingers of my left hand and I am ready for some pickin' and grinnin'!
Every song on my mom's "Best of Burl Ives" album.

"I prefer the Bluegrass Fakebook because it shows the melody, but Rise up Singing has a better selection of songs. I don't own a copy though, so if an order is being placed I definitely want to order one. Thanks, Janice, for your research! Lisa"
"Hi Zona, Hope you continue to"lurK"with us! Do you know anything about"Sacred Harp"singing? If you like really ancient music it might be up your alley and this weekend is the state convention at Templar's Hall (the place where Folk Circle met on Monday). Check out the Sandiegofasola.com website for more info about the convention THIS WEEKEND! A once in a lifetime opportunity!

"Hey Rick! I sold my little accordion, so I'm ready to get a new one. I am looking at one on ebay and the auction ends in about a day and a half, so let me know if you think you might have one for sale that is easy enough for me to handle, and I will not put any more attention to the one on ebay. Thanks again for you great d minor accompaniment on my nameless French song!"
"I have a small accordion that I would like to sell for $40 if anybody is interested. I will bring it to the Jan 11 Circle and play it. Lisa"
"I've been thinking about this, and I'm wondering if, because of our association with the City of Poway, we should direct our attention towards students in Poway...."
"Don't give up on the group! It's getting better and better all the time!"
"hmmmm. . .let me cogitate on this a bit!"
"Nice mare. How many hands is it? It looks to be about 19 or 20? I look forward to seeing a fellow mando player. So far I've only made it to one bluegrass meeting and it was kind of a bust. I like Jeff's new idea of playing in groups for everyone else."
