Ever wonder how events like the Train Song Festival and Sam Hinton Folk Festival are possible. Well there is an organization behind these events that is dedicated to the presentation and preservation of folk arts. If you haven't heard of the San Diego Folk Heritage (or if you have), please keep reading. This important nonprofit, volunteer group has thrown their weight and support behind PFC, and we owe them and the City a debt of gratitude for helping us gain access to the buildings in OPP for our events.
Tim Day, a member of PFC and vice-chair on the board of SDFH has been fostering the relationship between the budding PFC and the City of Poway. During one of our first meetings outside the Hamburger Factory on a cold November night in 2008, Barbara Brooks, one of the 3 original members of PFC suggested we talk to Tim. After hearing our story, Tim's been working hard for us ever since. We all get to enjoy the result. Thank You Tim! He also actually convinced me to join the board of SDFH! I invite you to take a look at the good things SDFH is doing in San Diego at large. Find out more at SDFH, and please consider joining. It's pretty inexpensive, and there are other opportunities for those that volunteer. You can join at Join SDFH We often post notices or meetups to SDFH concerts for your convenience. Thanks for checking them out. Jeff |

I think it is great that you are letting people know about the San Diego Folk Heritage organization. Don and I have been volunteering at these concerts for many years. We usually provide the refreshments (Don's delicious hot coffee) and something to chew on. We are also the VOLUNTEER COORDINATORS for all of the concerts. We can always use help taking tickets, setting up chairs, selling CDs etc. and volunteers get to enjoy all of these excellent concerts for FREE!
