All,

Ramona is having their 1st annual bluegrass festival on May 8-9th. It's 2 full days of bands (such as Bluegrass Etc and others) and jamming. It's not been publicized well so I thought I would help in spreading the word. I would be cool to see this grow to be as big as Summergrass.

I plan to be there on May 8th (maybe the 9th - however, I haven;t been able to convince my wife that a day of bluegrass for mothers day is the thing to do, I'll keep on trying).

Maybe I see you there. Spread the word. When I get some more details I'll update the post.

Wow, sounds great. I suspect you may be playing with one or more of these bands? Are you in the lineup?

Will there be jamming? If so, should we bring a PFC contingent?

This event hasn't been published well; I have seen anything other than the bands line-up. I would only assume that there will be workshops and jams. If there's a poway contingent for an informal jam then that would be great! I think the admission at the gate is around $15.

When I find out more then I will update this post.

This link will take you to the main website for the festival:

The only mention I saw for jam sessions was for "night time jam sessions" I presume for the overnight campers. There is a side stage area where stuff will be going on while bands take down and set up on the main stage, but I did not see anything specific about jams.

I received a flyer for the "Ramona Bluegrass & Old West Fest" with the same info Lance gave and nothing else, except it adds, at the bottom:

Lance - Congratulations! I see you've hit the big time - playing with Blue Creek Band! We'll try to come and hear you...

Here is the updated website: www.RamonaBluegrassFest.com It worked for me a few minutes ago and gives the schedule etc.

It says there will be nighttime jamming, but at most festivals there is often impromptu jamming going on during the day - in quiet corners of the festival away from the action. We just can't seem to help ourselves....

Nice. I just learned about this after runnning into Janice. She mentioned she caught your post on the PFC website. And just talked to a musician friend who said you joined one of the bands playing? Great!
I may stop by. Thanks for sharing. -Roger
